ExoMars : à la conquête de la planète rouge

April 28th 2021, M.A.R.S. UCLouvain will co-host, together with Kot Astro, a seminar on the ExoMars mission.
Two researchers that worked on the mission will share their experiences.
Our first guest is Véronique Dehant from the Observatoire royal de Belgique – Koninklijke Sterrenwacht van België. She is a geodesist and geophysicist who has already worked on a large number of missions to study the planet Mars.
During this seminar, she will explain the different current missions to Mars, and in particular those in which Belgium is involved. We will learn what questions these missions are trying to answer and how they are essential to the understanding of the red planet.
Our second guest, Séverine Robert from the Institut royal d’Aéronomie Spatiale de Belgique, is part of the NOMAD science team. This is a Belgian instrument orbiting Mars on board the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter satellite.
During this seminar, she will explain the genesis of the mission and the instrumentation as well as recent discoveries concerning the Martian atmosphere. This presentation will allow us to learn more about the potential evidence of biological activity on Mars.
